The Paltau waterfall, with a height of 38 meters, is an impressive natural phenomenon. The source of its formation is the mountain sai of the Paltau River, flowing from the spurs of the Koksu Range, located near the border with Kyrgyzstan. To visit this natural site, you must have a permit, which includes an environmental fee. At the same time, to get to the waterfall, you need to conquer the mountain landscapes on the territory of the Ugam-Chatkal National Park, which is famous for its picturesque valleys and beautiful landscapes. The route to the waterfall has a length of 4 kilometers in one direction, and is characterized by easy difficulty, which allows both children and the elderly to visit this place, who prefer not to strain themselves physically.
Small Chimgan is a local observation point located between the Charvak reservoir and Big Chimgan. Its location provides an opportunity to observe the entire surrounding area from a height. On the one hand, from the top, there is a view of Mingbulak, which is the border with Kazakhstan, on the other, the Koksu Range, which adjoins the border with Kyrgyzstan. However, the main attraction of this route is the impressive view of the peaks of Big Chimgan and Okhotnichy Peak. During the ascent to the Small Chimgan, the route participants will be able to gradually enjoy the panorama that these peaks provide and take unforgettable photos.
Previously, it seemed that forests and mountains are incompatible in Uzbekistan. However, Lashkerek, located in the south of the Tashkent region near the Tajik border, is an exception. The nature in this region is so diverse that it is difficult to immediately determine whether you are in Uzbekistan or in another country. The slopes of Lashkerek are covered with juniper forests, and fruit trees grow along the gorge. Our group will not stop at one forest, as most visitors to this region do. We will pass through the juniper forest and climb to the viewing glade, which offers views of the entire region and the city of Angren.
At the beginning of the route, travelers pass through walnut groves, where you can find large walnut specimens, whose age reaches more than a hundred years. Further, the trail begins to climb along Ispay-say, crossing its banks several times and bypassing side streams. During the walk, you can enjoy the variegated vegetation typical of the mountains of the Western Tien Shan. Ispay-Sai originates in the Pskem Range, where snow lies all year round at an altitude of more than 3000 meters above sea level. The nearest peaks include "Piezak" (3736 m above sea level) and "Padar" (3564 m above sea level).
There are two lakes in the Urungach Saya valley, named after the light jade (translated from the Uyghur language as “kash” and “urng”, respectively), there are two lakes. The Lower Lake is a small body of water with a beautiful turquoise hue, while the Upper Lake is a large body of water. Jade lakes attract tourists with their accessibility: in order to get to them, you do not have to travel long distances. Between the first and large lake, on the shore of which travelers can set up their camp, there is only an hour's journey.
Our route involves overcoming unsurpassed passes and several observation peaks of Charvak, Chimgan and Khodjikent, which amaze with their beauty. The track starts with a gentle ascent, but towards the end we climb to the top of Kungurbuk (1980 m) from Chimgan and descend from there to Bochki. At the request of the participants, we can celebrate our day there with a delicious mastava!
